    Not much in March

We came home on March 1st and up until now the weather has been marvelous. Today it is nasty and cold.
But, March is Joshua Tree flowering month, and they were beautiful. Check out my Joshua Tree photos.
Jim and Connie arrived on March 16th and will be here until some time in April. That's really all for March.

    February 2007, Vacation

We left Hummingbird on February 7 for Brenda, where we stayed 8 days. Everything worked out well: got our refrigerator repaired and the carpet cleaned and the outside of the rig washed. Spent most of our time with our friends Gene and Doris and had a great visit.
On Thursday, Feb. 15 we left Brenda and stayed at Picacho Peak State Park overnight. Next morning, shortly after leaving there, we blew a tire on the 5th-wheel. There was damage to the outside wall of the slide-out and crumpled sheet metal towards the front of the trailer, but after changing the tire we were able to go on our way. Stopped at Beaudry RV in Tucson where we got temporary repairs and an appointment for February 26 to get the rig fixed. So, even with a bit of delay, we made it to Bisbee that day, where we had reservations for a week at Queen Mine RV Park. What a nice little place that is - with a view right down into the huge Copper Mine pit and in walking distance to Old Town Bisbee. We had a great week. The weather was very cooperative and we took a trip to Whitewater Draw to see the Sandhill Cranes almost every day. Also made excursions to Tombstone and Douglas and the little town of Elfrida which has a wonderful bakery! I also took the underground tour of the Queen Mine and checked out the streets of Bisbee. When our week was up, we decided to move to the Double Adobe Ranch RV Park for two days and on Sunday, February 25, we traveled back to Tucson and spent the night at Baudry RV Resort.
On the way home we stayed 2 nights at Burro Creek and then had to be home on March 1st to be ready for Carl's VA appointment on March 2d. After 3 weeks of wonderful Spring weather, we came home to nighttime temperatures of 18 degrees F! The neighbor told us that it had been cold all the time we were gone. Well, the weather report keeps saying that it will get warmer starting tomorrow - I don't know for how long they've said it, but I'm hoping they will finally get it right!
