    November 30

On the last day of November

Well, just before this month is over, quickly, I will add the latest - and some older - news. To start at the beginning, we did get our house back. The Sheriff showed up on October 31st, and it took 8 of us 4 hours to move the renters out. What a relief! Up until the last minute I was afraid that something would happen and we would have to put up with these people for the rest of my life! Now, Tara and Richie have cleaned up the mess and they are enjoying their first house together. Tara fixed Thanksgiving Dinner - her first - and she said it was a great success.
We left Twanoh Falls on November 9th and came south through Utah, not letting the grass grow under our tires: from the 1st day of November, the weather had been miserable: uninterrupted rain, cold, wet, muddy...and snow was threatening on our trip. The one bright spot in our leaving so late was to see the salmon run up the little creek in front of our RV - something I had never witnessed before.
When we arrived at Hummingbird on November 14, the weather was the best we could have wished for - sunny in the low 70s and dry! Until the 24th, when it started getting cooler, and yesterday was a polar day with freezing temperatures even in daytime and it went down to 10 degrees at night. But still it is sunny and dry. We are planning to toughen it out until the end of January and then go to Willcox to see the Sandhill Cranes.
    So much for now.
